Success Story: 12-Week Approval of an E-2 Visa for a Dutch National

Our client, a Dutch national, bought a property management business in Florida. Their business does not have any full time employees, however, they have over 1000 contractors on the books. The Dutch national reached out to our firm to help them secure a treaty investor visa (E-2) to run their newly purchased business in the U.S.. The E-2 Treaty Investor Visa is a U.S. nonimmigrant visa that allows nationals of certain treaty countries to enter and work in the United States based on a substantial investment in a US business. The Netherlands has a bilateral agreement with the U.S., DAFT (Dutch-American Friendship Treaty) that allows Dutch nationals to live and work in the U.S. as self-employed individuals or business owners.

Our firm worked with the U.S. Consulate General in Amsterdam, who were very responsive and helpful with this case. Initially the visa interview was scheduled for 8 weeks after the submission of the E-2 case, but for unrelated reasons, our client had to postpone the interview for 12 weeks after initial submission. At the interview our client was granted their E-2 visa on the spot. They are now happily living in Florida with a thriving property management company.

Our team at Blue Lake Law has extensive experience working with the U.S. Consulate General in Amsterdam. We have even had another success story of obtaining an E-2 visa for a Dutch national within 6 weeks of filing.

At Blue Lake Law, we are committed to helping our clients navigate the complexities of U.S. immigration. If you’re facing similar challenges, we’re here to help you achieve your immigration goals.
