Success Story: Approval of a Short Notice Job Relocation DCF for a British Spouse in Just 3 Months

Our client, a U.S. citizen married to a British national, received an imminent job offer in the States, making her relocated to the U.S.. She wanted to bring her British husband with her, but unfortunately due to the nature of the job relocation, there was not enough time to go through a normal I-130 Petition for Alien Relative immigrant visa process, which can take from 15-20 months. Our firm requested a Direct Consular Filing (DCF) of the I-130 petition through the U.S. Embassy in London. If approved by the embassy, applications processed through DCF are expedited and cut down processing time from years to a matter of weeks or a few months. If a visa application is processed through DCF, the U.S. embassy where you are filing will handle the case directly, instead of sending it to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services center to be processed. DCF cases are accepted at the discretion of the U.S. Embassy in which they are requested at. In this case the U.S. Embassy in London accepts DCF cases under certain circumstances, a short movie job relocation is one of them! With extensive liaison and documented proof of the job relocation from our side, the U.S. Embassy in London accepted our client’s request for an expedited DCF.

From the date of filing to receiving a green card in hand the entire process took 3 months. Our firm would like to extend a huge congrats to our client and her husband who are now happily living and working in the U.S.!
