Success Story: Approval of an I-129F and AoS for a Georgian National 

Our client, a Georgian national, reached out to our firm for help when he met his U.S. citizen fiancee. He wanted to move with this fiancee back to the U.S. and start a life there with her. Our firm filed an I-129F petition (Petition for Alien Fiance(e)) on his behalf. After 10 months and consistent communication with our client and the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi, the I-129F was approved, and we were able to secure a K-1 visa for our client. 

The K-1 visa, also known as the “fiance(e) visa,” allows a foreign national engaged to a U.S. citizen to enter the United States after the I-129F petition has been approved and forwarded to the National Visa Center for consular processing. Once in the U.S., the foreign national must marry their U.S. citizen petitioner within 90 days of entry. After the marriage, they can then apply for Adjustment of Status to become a lawful permanent resident.

After our client’s move and marriage in the U.S., we were able to petition for an AoS. Within just 6 months after filing the AoS, our client was able to obtain a green card.
