Success story: Form I-130 & Consular Processing of a Dutch National Through Frankfurt
Our client, a Dutch national married to a US citizen, her form I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative) and consular processing were approved! The I-130 form is where a US citizen can petition for their foreign relative to become a US citizen. What constitutes a relative are family members and legally married spouses. While the consular processing of the I-130 form was taking place, our client was able to travel back and forth from the Netherlands and the US using an ESTA. An ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) for the Netherlands refers to the mandatory travel authorization required by citizens from Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries, such as the Netherlands, to travel to the United States for tourism or business without a visa. It is an automated, online system used for short-term stays (90 days or less). The entire process from filing the application to the green card in hand took 17 months, the Dutch national is now living in the US with her husband! Our firm handled this application through the US Consulate in Frankfurt, where consular processing of a form I-130 is now taking place for Dutch nationals. We would like to extend a huge congratulations to our clients and wish them all the best!
