Success Story: I-130 and I-485 for an Irish National Living in Florida
Our client, an Irish national, went to the states with her U.S. citizen husband. She was able to travel to the U.S. on an ESTA. An ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) is a mandatory online security check for citizens of Visa Waiver Program countries travelling to the U.S. for under 90 days. The ESTA is a non-immigrant visa and only allows foreign nationals under the Visa Waiver Program to enter the U.S. for 90 days, our client wanted to stay in the U.S. with her husband indefinitely. She contacted our firm, Blue Lake Law, to assist her to get a green card in the U.S.. Our firm prepared her I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative) form first, allowing her to get an immigrant visa and remain in the U.S.. After the I-130 approval our client had to file a form I-485, to adjust her status to a lawful permanent resident. As they were already in the States and had no preconceived intent to remain in the country at the time of entry, our firm was easily able to file forms I-130 and I-485 without any problems. Our client and her husband are now happily living together in Florida.
